Just came back from Misia concert at Expo Hall 1. What an experience! For someone who rarely go to live concerts, I am so glad I went for this one, worth everything. Misia really is a powerhouse singer. Her vocal is controlled and tight. Her stamina is amazing for her type of vocal/song and she showed us twice her 5 octaves range. This is an amazing live concert.
In addition, what made this concert even better than other concerts in Singapore was because more than half of the audience are Japanese. For those few who understand, it totally is a different experience. In Japan, concerts are usually very interactive, the audience are showing such enthusiasm toward the artist. Not like Singaporean (and south east asian countries) who are mostly (probably totally) reserved and quiet. Doesn’t matter if the music is hard rock or metal rock, the audience will sit still as if it’s an easy listening concert. You can beat your drum until it tears and nobody will stand and clap. They don’t show their feeling at all and I feel very sad for the artist who tries so hard to get the audience to join in.
This concert, as soon as the music hit the first note, almost immediately the whole audience stood up and clapped/waved. At first I also felt reserved and sat through the first half because there was no movement on my section. But the aura just gotten into me and I finally jumped in and started clapping and dancing like never before (really!). In the end, I have to say that I never been so sweaty and hot in a concert. What a different ambience and I really really enjoyed it, especially the participation part.
So, who’s the next J-Pop/Rock artist to come?

Hi D-San
Been there last night, many Japanese fans yeah. Non-Japanese fans also moved their bodies and clapped, but maybe, not that high, that is true, have to agreed with you.
I have never be that happy until last night, Misia is so cute and sincere in delivering her music. Not just her vocal, but her emotion flows!
Hope more Jpop singer will come, after this.
Cheers!

Sure do! My cousin and I are eyeballing for our favorite soloist/group concert date in Japan and probably will arrange a Japan vacation trip which includes a concert.
