Getting (forced) myself a Acer notebook

My plan for the next notebook is mini notebook, probably Asus. But with a blink of eye, my plan is nuked and I am getting myself a Acer normal notebook, which I never even think of getting! Rewind… I own this 5-year old blind and gutless Dell notebook (spoilt display & no HD, used it as my external drive now). It just sitting there staring at the wall for years. The price given from the 2nd hand shop is between 50-80. Nah… so I let it collect dust, until yesterday (last day) when I bumped into this Acer offer of notebook trade off promo. The good thing is, they’ll take anything in any condition. So, I ended trading off my Dell for $500 and get myself a Acer notebook. It’s rather powerful piece. And since I spend something I didn’t plan for, I don’t have anymore budget for software. So, this new notebook is installed with bunch of open source and free software: OpenOffice, AVG, ZoneAlarm (which I get 1 year free during their promo), Firefox, and for sure more to come.
