Well, well… it looks like I’m blogging more on Truman & Michiko than my hobbies, which is what this blog sub titled. I still gaming, can’t run away from this. Currently playing Batman Arkham Asylum. A good game overall. There were lots of interruptions in between Batman’s punches and gliding, when I had to pause the game everytime I heard or not heard Michiko’s bell ringing erratically. In my Batman game, it will be like:”Joker, you can’t hide forever… but Michiko can. So, while you wait for me there, I’ll look for Michiko and get back to you.” Yeah, it’s a fun game.

Michiko: as if! Graahhh! Never underestimate my almost perfect fast cycling kick! Let go of me or else!
Truman: Urgghhh!
Michiko: Grraaaahh!
Truman: Ouch my eyebrow! *gasp* I let go.
Michiko: Hey, don’t let go.
Truman: ?? I thought you asked me to let go…
Michiko: Grahhh! Here I come. Almost perfect 1kg energy ball pounce!

When cats are focusing on their target, they will lock at it like a guided missile and give a chase. In Africa, when big cats chase their prey, everything in between like bushes, small trees will not in their vision and may be victim of collateral damage. Same when house cats give a chase, in this case, Truman and Michiko, everything in between like me, sofa, me, chair will not in their vision. True, my tummy was being stepped on, pounced on when they play chase.

I would think it is considered as short time that both cats are now playing together. I can watch them play all day long and laugh. I strongly believe that owning pets will prolong one’s life and reduce stress. Now, I am hoping that they will cuddle and sleep together.

Episode 3: Let’s play!

Michiko: You’re nice, you’re not scary, I want to be your friend. Let’s play together, Truman!
Truman: Michiko is finally settle down and playing with me all the time, when she’s not sleeping. Sometimes she has way too much energy for me to keep up. I have to get to higher spot to keep me out of her reach. Michiko likes to sneak up on me and pounce me on the neck or my back, then runs away. It’s a sneak, hit and run. When I give him a chase, she’s always winning because she can hide in places I can’t reach. I haven’t had so much exercise in a long time and it is good. We are good friend now.
Oh dear, this is the second post of the month? The absent is justified by the amount of happenings in such a short time. First of all, after a week of vacation leave, I’m finally found what I think will be the best suitable companion kitten for Truman. I named her Michiko. Today has been the fourth day since Michiko joined our family. The progress has been going well. This little ball of energy never stops, play play play and I am happy that Truman joins in.
Truman & Michiko really take loads of my time, ehem… gaming time, away. But it is totally fine because it is so much fun watching them play. My race to top 50 will now take even longer, but it’s fine.

Episode 1: First Encounter
Date: 15-Aug-2009
Truman: See that handsome picture on the left? That’s me, Truman. I’ve been staying with my owner for almost 4 years now. This is the best life of all of my 9 lives. I sleep most of the time but when my owner goes to work, I feel a bit lonely and I am very excited when it is about time my owner is coming home. I always sleep close to the door so I can greet as soon as I hear the keychain.
As if my owner knows what I am thinking, last Saturday on 15th August, a small fella entered our home. I am very curious at her. She is so small and afraid of me. She kept hissing with the fur stood up. Ha ha, she looks so fuzzy that way. She kept hopping sideway in that defensive position. I tried to make friend by slowly approaching and sniffing but back away when she is defensive.
I found out that she was named Michiko, that’s her picture on the left. Her color is the very typical calico (tri-color) but the pattern arrangement is so atypical and interesting. You see, she wears white socks and has pink paws. Her face is roughly split into half of majority brown and black, same as her tummy and her front leg. Her hind legs are almost perfect except a patch of light brown on the right leg.
I hope she will adapt well into our home very shortly.

Episode 2: Almost there, not too bad at all
Date: 16-Aug-2009
Truman: Michiko is not too feisty, she is still afraid of me but she’s getting used to see me around. She is quite brave and not hiding in dark places. She explores, and afraid of me more than my owner. It’s ok, I am a gentlecat and always give in to her. Michiko is smart, she knows where the toilet is and using it quite well. Food wise, she still like to eat mine rather than her kitten kibbles. As always, I let her without raising a paw. Oh, Michiko is not a fussy eater at all, she eats anything, dry kitten food, dry adult food and cans food. She is rather skinny and I am sure she will be bountiful in few months. Since Michiko is still afraid of me, she has been playing with my toys and new toys my owner bought. It is only the second day and she shows an eagerness to play with me, but still a bit reserve. I’m sure it won’t be long until we play together.
Michiko: Ball! Bouncing ball! Tail! String! Plush! More Tail! Yay!
After a few days, it is decided that MiKe is not the best candidate for Truman. Instead of introducing adult male cat, I think it is better to start with female kitten. This is why I am now looking to adopt female kitten, who will be named Kate. There is one candidate and hopefully I can have a happy family like Fuchagi’s Family. I encourage everyone to watch the cat family bibliography, shot since 2006. No props, no silly costumes, only daily life of cats. It is very calm, soothing and funny watch, good to lower stress
